Financial Breakdown of my day

1 hour at grocery store = $120 = $120/hr.

2.5 hours at "hair place" (can't bring myself to say "beauty salon")
= $85 (at which point Troy is having a coronary since he has NO idea
what is different about my hair and he can't imagine spending
$85 for it to look the same-- he just paid $10 to get SCALPED)
= $34/hr.

1.5 hours at eye doctor = $100 = $67/hr.

I guess, all in all, the "hair place" is the better bargain for my time -- not to mention all of the calories I burned by my blood pressure being elevated and tapping my foot for the last hour wondering if I would make it to my next appointment of sitting for long periods of time.

OOh-OOh-OOh. . .more Christmas fun? :) I have a WONDERFUL gal who cuts my hair for $28. . .and I tip her well. Her name is Brandy--and if you can stand the mouth of a sailor during your haircut, then she's your gal--of course she's about 6 1/2 hours away so. . .

You just need some fresh perspective. If I had it, I could go into a menswear store and spend $1,000 in 20 minutes. That makes your foray to the grocery a real bargain.

And I have made more than one 30-minute trip to the Harley dealer that cost thousands of dollars.

Way I see it, that makes groceries look like a good deal. (Of course, I've never enjoyed ANY food as much as I enjoy the Hog).

It's a shame you didn't enjoy your hair appointment. I love to go to the "hair place".Your hair did look great. Next time try to think of it as a time to meditate and r e l a x. You deserve it. Also it can be a time to minister to someone in the shop. God sends us places for a reason.

Oh but Sarah. Calculate in the time you spend blogging and it all evens out. I figured out that my time is worth .13/hr! Course throw in on-line shopping and then you have to recalibrate.

Sounds like your financial woes are kind-of like mine. Mine were not appointments, they were considered "emergencies" at our house. Too bad there wasn't enough "emergency fund" to cover it all! That means no Christmas parties for us... AARGH!!
