Today's Calvin

Isn't that the truth? I'm anxiously waiting for the end of November when I can turn in "food for fines" -- if I donate a can of food to the local food bank, it knocks $1 off of my library fines. Every year I take a bazillion cans up there. Every year I vow I will do better next year. Every year in the back-to-school madness, a summer reading book gets lost in the shuffle, and if I ever find it, I turn it in and wait for the Food for Fines drive.

I think our fine is around $20. . .and they have no can drive here. This isn't our Stupid Tax--it's our Busy, Forgetful Tax.

Ooh I wish my Library had a food for fines drive!! I've been known to have to write a check to cover my fines. :::sigh:::

I SOOOOOO do that, too! One year I had to take 12 cans! The lady looked at me like I had three heads!
